1. What is Sidekick Sitters?

Sidekick Sitters is a babysitting agency located in Honolulu, Hawai'i that connects families with qualified babysitters. 

2. How does Sidekick Sitters work?

Parents submit a request with the agency by providing information regarding the hotel name (or location) and information on their children. Following, the agency will confirm the booking request and send information on a babysitter that fits perfect for your family. 

3. Why should I use Sidekick Sitters?

Sidekick Sitters are very proud of the quality sitters that make up the team. We are confident in our referral service and can guarantee our service is unmatched.  To be on our referral list, the babysitters must go through an extensive process and will not be referred until that process has been successfully completed. Babysitters will always arrive on time, ensure that any instructions, routines, allergies and such are discussed; they will always have an ID, and arrive at every sit with games, arts & crafts, age appropriate activities and much more!

We only refer babysitters whom we would use ourselves. The founder Amanda Seguin has built the team of Sidekick Sitters based off of her experience in the industry. She has worked with hundreds of (local and international) families and has identified the qualities and characteristics that make a great babysitter. She is confident that Sidekick Sitters are responsible and most importantly love caring for children with passion and kindness. Our prices are competitive because we are confident that no service matches our quality. Our main priority for the children is their safety and their development. We acknowledge your concerns as parents and refer only the highest quality babysitters to ensure that your children are well-cared for and so that you can have peace of mind.

4. Will I get the same babysitter every time?

The goal is to assign the same sitter for the entire booking, however, we will notify you if two sitters are needed to fulfill the booking request. 

5. Can I find out more about my babysitter in advance?

You will receive information on your babysitter once your booking is confirmed. If there is further questions you may have about your sitter you may contact the agency or the babysitter directly. 

6. How does payment work?

You will pay via credit card prior to the first day of the booking. We will email you a detailed receipt of the days and hours you booked. The agency is responsible for paying the babysitter. 

7. How does Sidekick Sitters screen their sitters?

We have a very detailed process by which we screen the babysitters whom we refer. Unlike other agencies, no babysitter is referred by Sidekick Sitters until the screening process has been successfully completed.

Surprisingly, the state has no required standards for temporary child care, so to give parents a peace of mind, Sidekick Sitters has developed its own standards, which are unmatched by any other service. Sidekick Sitters is the only service that requires each of its sitters to meet such strict requirements listed below:

8. Why should I use a babysitting agency?

Unfortunately the State of Hawaii has no required standards for temporary childcare. Sidekick Sitters have spent the hours screening and vetting babysitter candidates, to ensure your experience with a babysitter is of high-quality and a perfect fit for your family. By using Sidekick Sitters, you know that you are being referred to a high quality babysitter that provides games, arts & crafts, age appropriate activities and much more!

9. What is the cancellation policy?

We do not offer any refund if the cancellation occurs within 48 hours of the reservation start time. 

We offer a full refund and modifications of the reservation if made outside of the 48 hours of the reservation start time.

10. What if I need to change the time of reservation or we are running late?

We value our babysitters time and our babysitters understand the need to be flexible. All changes to any reservation must be made with the agency. If you are running late, the babysitter will still be paid for the original start time of the reservation.

11. What if we don't use all the hours we booked? Can we get a refund?

We do not refund for any hours not used. We value our babysitters time and we promise to compensate them for the hours they have committed to.  

12. We have an international cellphone, how can I keep in touch with the babysitter while we are away? 

[Only iPhone Users]: If you and the babysitter have an iPhone, iMessage is a great way to keep in touch - as long as you are connected to wifi or have data, there should be no additional charge to text. 

[iPhone & Non-iPhone Users]: Whatsapp is a great app that allows the sending of text messages and voice calls, as well as video calls, images and other media documents, and user location. As long as you haven't exceeded your data limit or you're connected to a free Wi-Fi network, your carrier shouldn't charge you extra for messaging over WhatsApp.
